India’s higher education sector successes are the envy of the world and attracting foreign universities to develop linkages with Indian Institutions of higher learning. Foreign students are keen to avail India’s low cost advantage without compromising on quality. The Modi Apollo Institute (affiliated to Western International University, Arizona), Delhi, set up in 2001, is one such research-oriented, independent, management Institution, offering high quality Post Graduate, Executive and undergaduation level programs for students from all over the world.
Hi, my name is Gandharv Vig and I am from Gurgaon, Haryana. I did my post graduation, Masters of Business Administration in Marketing, in 2005 from the Modi Apollo Institute located in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi.
Initially when I heard about the direct campus concept which WIU follows I was bit skeptical about the future of the institute. Being one and only direct campus institute in India the chances of the concept going un-noticed were huge. But due to the popular 'Work while you learn' mantra the institute gained huge respect. It gave a fresh gateway to the way post graduation courses are viewed in India.
Currently I am employed as a Marketing Manager with the Indo-German Export Promotion Project (An PPP between German Technical Cooperation & Ministry of Commerce, GoI). My core responsibility is to promote bilateral business relations between India and Germany at Micro level. In past two years our organization has successfuly introduced around 25 German firms in India. Alongside that we are working on various state level projects and are responsible for introducing modern technologies (technology transfer) in the Indian market.
My experience at WIU has definitely had a impetus on my approach towards my career. It has not only enhance my knowledge but has also helped me to be something worth while in life which I have always visualised. I strongly believe that my decision to join WIU has reaped suitable benefits and will continue to do so.
Just a piece of advice to all my friends pursuing their education from WIU, College classes are a responsibility, no one is going to make you go to class or be a responsible person. You will sink or swim based on how responsible you are.
