In anticipation of their graduation:
Review their degree requirement with their
academic counselor
Verify the degree requirement and graduation
completion period
Apply for graduation at the registrar's
office
Students can apply for graduation by submitting a Request
for Graduation Clearance to the registrar's office
or an academic counselor at least nine credits or
90 days prior to the expected completion date. Upon
receipt of the request, the registrar's office updates
the students program evaluation, and then they can meet the academic
counselor to review the remaining requirements and make arrangements
for capstone courses.
All WIU students are expected to complete their programs
within a reasonable time frame. The following time periods
have been considered as reasonable for completion of the programs:
Bachelor degree: eight years from the start
of the program
Master degree: six years from the start of the program
If the student leaves the university and return again,
his or her time away will not be counted.
