Undergraduate
Admission
All applicants must meet the following requirement
to be considered for admission to the university:
Standards
The following standards
must be met to be considered for unrestricted admission to WIU :

Applicants
entering with 12 or more graded semester academic
credits of college level work from regionally
accredited post-secondary institutions (or
equivalent) must possess a cumulative grade
point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (Ist,
IInd, or IIIrd Division) for all coursework
completed.

Applicants
entering with fewer than 12 graded semester
academic credits of college level work from
regionally accredited post-secondary institutions
(or equivalent) must possess an overall GPA
of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all high school coursework, completed
the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Students
must demonstrate English Language Proficiency.
Graduate
Admission
Eligibility
All applicants must meet the following requirement to be considered
for admission to the university:

Conferral
of a four-year baccalaureate degree or equivalent
from a regionally accredited college or university.
Should the student hold more than one baccalaureate
or higher level degree, the most recent credential
earned will be considered for admission.
NOTE:
Students holding a first degree (minimum
three years in length) may be considered
for the WIU Foundational Bridge utilizing
the graduate admissions criteria.
Standards

The following standards must be met to be considered for unrestricted admission
to WIU :

Applicants
must have achieved a cumulative grade point
average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (Ist or
IInd Division) for all undergraduate courses
completed.

Applicants
utilizing a previous graduate degree for admission
must have achieved a minimum overall GPA of
3.0 on a 4.0 scale (Ist Division).

Students
must demonstrate English Language Proficiency.
